BRM Architecture and System Requirements

Architecture
BRM utilizes a multi-tier architecture that provide a flexible, scalable application infrastructure. As your business grows and adapts to new goals and challenges, this architecture will ensure that your company has the digital agility to embrace organizational change -- readily and vigorously.

At the core of the design is the BRM Server, which is a standard Microsoft Windows 2000/2003® Server on your corporate network. The BRM Server acts as BRM's central nervous system, facilitating the flow of information throughout your enterprise, enforcing workflow rules, and applying the business intelligence functions that you've defined for your organization. If desired, the BRM Server can also host the BRM database, which can be any industry-standard database (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, IBM DB2, MySQL, MS Access) that is ODBC/OLE DB compliant.

The BRM architecture supports a wide range of client interfaces and hardware devices, including the Windows BRM Administrative Console, the BRM Connections interface that integrates transparently with Microsoft Outlook, and the PocketPC-based BRM Mobile Edition. In addition, the flexibility of BRM's architecture supports the rapid development, deployment, and integration of any custom client interfaces, including voice portals and e-mail gateways.

Each BRM client interface provides a secure network connection, with authentication, encryption and object-level permissions. Users that need to access data securely from outside of the corporate firewall can utilize a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection or take advantage of BRM's Beyond-the-4-Walls (B4W) Services. The multi-user environment is only limited by the server resources and can scale to any number of local and remote users.
