Vice President Business Development

Job Objective: Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities at MTP Software. Builds the sales channel, VARs, and strategic partner relationships. Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of sales goals and quotas. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the MTP Software customer base. Is an advocate and evangelist for MTP Software and its products.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Build and manage channel and VAR relationships and territories
  • Build and manage strategic partner relationships
  • Develops a sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the Account Executives.
  • Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Conducts channel and VAR sales and product meetings.
  • Conducts one-on-one review with all Account Executives to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Account Executive’s sales and activity performance.
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
  • Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Account Executives.
  • Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses.
  • Assists in the development of sales and marketing collateral.
  • Assists Account Executives, Channel partners and VARs in preparation of proposals, contracts and presentations.
  • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.

Relationships and Roles:
Internal / External Cooperation

  • Build and manage channel and VAR relationships and territories
  • Ensures that all Account Executives meet or exceed all sales quotas.
  • Sets examples for Account Executives in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
  • Maintains ongoing client relationships to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

Job Specifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales and sales management.
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams.
